Flying from Amsterdam, NL (AMS) to Zürich, CH (ZRH)
Express trip to Zürich! First time flying with Swiss Air Lines from Amsterdam Schiphol Airport. Early morning departure is blessed with low passenger traffic. Easy check in, quick security. I try to choose them as often as possible.
Walking through into Terminal 1 takes a few minutes as it’s not in the main Schiphol building. I had no luggage to check-in so I was able to efficiently use the Swiss APP to check into my flight. All I had to do was go through security.
Security was a breeze and took no more than 5 minutes. My flight is one of the first ones taking off in the morning and just as Schiphol’s air traffic is ramping up. Our boarding was on time and it was very well structured. Automatic gates for check in sped up the process and reduced a bottle neck in the jet way.
We were delayed once boarded for about 15 minutes due to increased departure traffic. Luckily once we were released from the gate. We had a short taxi to our runway. Take off and the early morning Amsterdam dawn was gorgeous. Minimal cloud coverage created some really picturesque views. We reached cruising altitude and breakfast was served.
Breakfast included a choice of drink, juices, tea or coffee. They also handed out a very tasted Swiss pastry. I was pleasantly surprised to have such service in such a short flight. This is unheard of with US Carriers.
Descent and Approach into Switzerland was gorgeous. As you can see in the video I tried to leave as much footage as possible as its such a beautiful sight to see with mountains, trees and beautiful views.
A small delay was completely acceptable and Swiss is not to blame. The crew was exceptional and I look forward to flying with them in the future. Thank you for watching and stay tuned for more videos.
