Flying from Amsterdam, NL (AMS) to Los Angeles, USA (LAX)
Coming from a trip to Belgium and Germany we decided to come back the night before our flight and spend the night at the airport. We placed our luggage in storage at Schiphol and proceeded to go to our hotel that is Airside… This meant we needed to do immigration and security… and then we would need to do it again to get our baggage. Please don’t do this, learn from us. If you need to stay airside make sure you have all your luggage with you!
We arrive to an empty, ghost zone Schiphol and briefly checked into our hotel. Well rested we were ready for our flight back home to Los Angeles. Flying the Queen of the Skies is always a special occasion. I am extremely sad that KLM has accelerated their retirement due to the global pandemic.
The 747-406 COMBI named City of Shanghai was the chosen one to take us home. The flight was exceptional, the crew was attentive and friendly. Of course the cabin shows signs of wear due to the age of the aircraft but that is not to overwhelm its beauty.
It will truly be missed.
Thank you for watching and stay tuned for more videos.
